Dance Awareness Days at SUNY Brockport
features guest artists and renowned faculty

SUNY College at Brockport's Department of Dance's popular Dance Awareness Days return February 19-20 for two days of classes in dance and dance-related topics each day from morning to evening.

SUNY Brockport's world-renowned alumni, faculty and staff will offer more than 45 classes in areas including yoga, tap, hip hop, jazz, Afro-Haitian, African drumming, ballet and tai chi, among others.

"I look forward to Dance Awareness Days each year because it's a chance to do something different from my regular classes," says Monique Rutherford, a senior dance and psychology major from San Francisco, California, and vice president of the Dance Club. "And we have many students take part who are from other departments and the local schools and dance studios. It's a chance to explore many types of movement."

All classes are free and open to the public. The classes will be held in Hartwell Hall, Kenyon Street, on the SUNY Brockport campus. For information or a complete schedule of classes and activities, call the Department of Dance at (585) 395-2153 or e-mail dance@brockport.edu.
