Bright Raven gymnasts
win in Utica

The Bright Raven Gymnastics girls optional teams traveled to Utica January 17 to compete in the 2004 Leatherstocking Invitational and came home with many awards.

In the Level 8 competition, Danielle Palumbo of North Chili earned first place all around in the 15 and over age division with a high score of 35.925. In the individual events, Danielle placed second on balance beam (9.00) and floor exercise (9.050) and third on the uneven parallel bars (9.00). Teammate Christine Manthei of Chili was first on the uneven bars (9.25). In the 12-14 age division, Jenna Easton of Chili took third place on bars and Megan Seuffert of Gates was third on beam (9.225).

Amber Kober of Ogden was first all around in the Level 7 competition for gymnasts age 14 and over scoring 36.175. Amber also placed second on beam (9.325) and floor (9.125). Sabrina Hill of Brockport won first place on floor (9.25), first on bars (9.45) and second place all around (36.05). In the 8-11 age division, Holly Pzybyla of Greece was third all around (36.80) and also placed second on beam (9.55). Bright Raven's Level 7 team was awarded the third place team award. Other Level 7 Bright Raven team members contributing to the team effort included Rachel Eckert of Irondequoit, Alyssa Kober of Ogden and Brianna Fischer of Spencerport.

In the Level 6 competition for gymnasts age 12 and over, Erin Kolb of Chili took first place on the uneven bars (9.275) and second all around (35.825). Emily Gutknecht of Rochester was first on floor exercise (9.80). Kara Golis of Churchville was third on floor (9.50) and third on bars (9.00). Amanda Arcieri of Chili placed second on beam (8.80).

In the Level 5 age 7-9 division, Emily Thomas of Conesus took third place in floor exercise (9.05). Amber Harewood of Chili was third in floor exercise in the 10-11 age division.
