Community chorus concerts set for March

The Spencerport Community Chorus will present its annual Spring Concert on Saturday, March 6 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 7 at 3 p.m. Both concerts are held at the First Congregational Church (the Historic White Church) on Church Street in Spencerport. The concerts are free, with baskets available for donations. Receptions will follow both concerts.

This year's program will include two men's numbers, "Think On Me" and "The Birth of Doo-Wop," and two women's numbers, "If You Were Coming In the Fall," and "Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now" from the hit musical "Hairspray," Susan McKnight and Cindy Haag, soloists. Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber will be represented by "The Music of the Night" from "Phantom of the Opera," and "Let Us Love In Peace" from "The Beautiful Game."

Spencerport High School's Swing Choir, directed by Alan Jones, will make a guest appearance.

The Chorus is dedicating this year's spring concerts to the memory of chorus member Tina Besse who died in April 2003.

The chorus is directed by Margaret Page Colucci and accompanied by Margaret Johnson. Rehearsals are held at the White Church on Sundays from 3 to 5:15 p.m. Anyone is welcome to sing.
