Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 4-8 holds awards and change of watch ceremony

Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 4-8 held their Change of Watch Ceremony and swearing in of their new bridge for 2004. Commander Richard Popowych, Vice Commander Betty Benoit and Staff officers Aaron Bauch, Wayne Bauch, Christian Benoit, Bonnie Howlett, Roger Howlett, Robert Meyer, Pearl Neumann, Sandra Popowych, Ann Roller, Martin Schooping, Douglas Smith, Gordon Smith, Mark Thomas, and Peter Urgola took their oath on January 24 at the Rochester Yacht Club.

Year end awards were presented to Flotilla 4-8 members at the Division Change of Watch Ceremonies and also at the Flotilla Change of Watch Ceremonies. Many awards were given to outstanding members. Awards presented include: Operations: Joseph Marchese; Operations Support: Carol Urgola; Instructor Aide: Roger Howlett; Marine Dealer Visits: Richard Popowych; Member Training: Carol and Peter Urgola; Career Counselor: Ann Roller; Public Affairs: Ann Roller; Outstanding Flotilla in Member Training: Flotilla 4-8; Outstanding Auxiliarist of the Year 2003 for Division 4: Richard Popowych.
