Manners' 16 points leads Kendall

Justin Manners scored 16 points and pulled down five rebounds as Kendall defeated Holley 58-40 in the final regular season game for both teams.

Manners scored seven of his points in the first quarter and Joe Dorsey added six as the Eagles built an 18-16 lead. They extended the lead to 29-22 at the half with sophomore Dan Halter accounting for six points in the second quarter.

Kendall outscored the Hawks 19-8 to put the game away in the third quarter. Manners scored seven points and Tyger Northrop knocked down two three-pointers as the Eagles extended the lead to 18 points. The Hawks then rallied scoring eight of the final ten points of the game, but the game was already out of reach.

Steve Wright led the Hawks with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Mike Penna scored six while Larry Marling, Joel Grimm, Ryan Vendetti and Pat Brice each scored five points. Besides Manners, Dan Halter scored 12 points for the Eagles, Joe Dorsey ten, Northrop nine and Pat Dorsey scored five points to go with his team-leading 8 assists.

Kendall finished the regular season 9-9 and will be ranked 6th heading into the Section Five playoffs. Holley completed their season 3-15 and will be ranked 11th. Seniors Northrop and Joe Dorsey played in their final home game for Kendall. Vendetti and Brice were competing in their final regular season game for the Hawks.
