Explore Girl Scout Camps at information sessions

The Girl Scouts of Genesee Valley invites all girls, ages 5 to 17, to participate in its fun-filled summer program. Girls do not need to be currently registered in Girl Scouts to sign up for summer camp.

Girls and their parents are invited to attend a summer camp information session 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at the Program Center in West Henrietta or 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 4 at the GLOW Center in Batavia.

Learn about resident camp at Camp Pinewood in the scenic hills of the Finger Lakes region near Dansville and day camp at three scenic locations - Oak Orchard, near Medina, Piperwood in Perinton and Camp Pinewood near Dansville.

At resident camp, girls may choose from more than 20 themes, including the ropes course, horseback riding, backpacking, hiking, and arts and crafts. Camp Pinewood sits on 750 acres of beautiful wooded grounds, a private lake, streams, hiking trails, a swimming pool, as well as large sports and archery fields. Sessions run from July 5 - August 13. Girls entering grades 4-12 sleep in either A-frame or canvas platform tents.

At day camp, girls make new friends, hike, play games, sing songs, cook out and make crafts. Beginning horseback riding is offered at Camp Pinewood and Oak Orchard. One-week sessions run from July 12 to August 13.

Daily bus transportation is available for day camp programs. Extended care is available before and after regular camp times for girls attending Camp Piperwood in Perinton.
