Brockport Symphony Orchestra
requests help from board

In order to keep bringing music to the community, representative Bethany Centrone came before the Brockport Village Board requesting a donation for the Brockport Symphony Orchestra (BSO) at the March 1 board meeting.

"We've seen an increase in the expenses with the musicians," Centrone said. "And we are coming before you as we do every year asking for your help with donations to keep us going."

Centrone thanked village officials for allowing the BSO to utilize the village hall for rehearsals. "It's been helpful to have our rehearsals in a set location," she said.

BISCO and the Town of Clarkson have already donated to the BSO's operating expenses, Centrone said. "I know the village is strapped financially, but we are, too," she acknowledged.

Mayor Josephine Matela said she feels it is important to keep the symphony viable. "We will sit down as a board and see what we can do," she said.

A concert is scheduled for March 20.
