VOA offers free pick-up service for Brockport residents

Volunteers of America offers a free pick-up service every Monday for residents of the 14420 zip code who want to donate used clothing and household items to the charity.

Volunteers of America will send a truck to a resident's home or business in Brockport, pick up the items being contributed, and leave a receipt that can be used when the donor is itemizing their tax deductions. Individuals who would like to make a donation must schedule the pick-up by calling 647-1150.

Donated items are given to people in need or sold in Volunteers of America's seven area stores. Proceeds from store sales are used to support Volunteers of America's programs in the Rochester area, including housing for the homeless, care for impoverished children, and emergency food assistance.

Volunteers of America accepts used clothing, furniture, appliances, electronics, books, toys, linens, lamps, shoes and bric-a-brac.

Donations can also be dropped off during business hours at VOA's Brockport Retail Center located at 4750 Lake Road in Brockport.
