Churchville Elementary first graders Scott Arilotta and Danielle Pusateri size themselves up next to Gina Valvano's bassoon as Erin Lesser and Tom Cuffari watch.

Am I as big as a bassoon?

Scarborough Trio, an ensemble of Gina Valvano on bassoon, Erin Lesser on flute and Tom Cuffari on piano came to Churchville Chili Senior High School and Churchville Elementary School to perform and teach students about their instruments.

Valvano, Lesser and Cuffari demonstrated their talents as students and staff at CES watched. "I was very impressed with Scarborough Trio's musical ability and our students' musical knowledge. The CES students deserve credit for being able to answer many questions from the trio," said Mike Anuszkiewicz, assistant principal at CES. Before the trio's performance at CES, first graders Scott Arilotta and Danielle Pusateri sized themselves up next to Valvano's bassoon.

The Scarborough Trio is in residence at the Scarborough Presbyterian Church in Scarborough, New York. The trio has performed in venues throughout the United States. The ensemble gave their professional debut at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall in February 2003 as winners of the Artists International Competition.

Valvano, a Churchville-Chili Central graduate, is the daughter of Cheryl and Steve Valvano, residents of Churchville.
