Girl Scouts earn Bronze Award

On Saturday, March 27, 2004 girls from Troop 103 with the Black Creek Service Unit earned their Bronze Award, the highest award a junior girl scout can receive. Their required community service project involved 6th grade girls from Churchville Intermediate School, and efforts to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House. In the fall of 2002, after taking a tour of the facility, they chose to cook a meal, donate books and make "rainy day bags" for the children visiting. The girls then began meeting once a month to complete the requirements of the award. Over the last few months, they decorated and put together bags of small toys, went shopping and prepared a lasagna dinner.

They will receive their award on April 21, at their Fly-Up Ceremony.
