It’s good to be home!

Suzanne Hicks, an MP with the 64th MP CO, 720th MP Battalion, returned to Fort Hood from Iraq recently, then on April 12, her 25th birthday, arrived in Rochester and was greeted with a surprise airport reception. While in Iraq and stationed in Kirkuk, her company guarded an EPOW camp and she was first a gunner on a HUMVEE, then a driver of an armored security vehicle and worked as an MP. Hicks is third generation Army with two grandfathers having served in WWII and her father, Tom, a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. Her sister, SPC Sarah Hicks, is also in the Army, to be deployed to Korea later this year. "We’re more than grateful she’s home safe. We’re proud of her and the 64th," her mother Shari said. Suzie Hicks is a 1997 graduate of Spencerport High School. She’ll return to Fort Hood but doesn’t know if she’ll return to Iraq. Top, Suzie gets a big hug from her Mom and Dad, Tom and Shari Hicks of Ogden. Bottom, a large crowd of family and friends, wearing ‘Welcome Home, Suzie Hicks’ T-shirts, posed for a photo at the Rochester International Airport while waiting for Suzie to arrive.
