Parma Baptist Church
installs new pastor

Parma Baptist "Community" Church will be installing their new pastor, Rev. David R. Chhangte, on Sunday, April 25 at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend this special service.

Rev. Chhangte began his duties as the pastor of Parma Baptist "Community" Church in November 2003. Before coming here, he was the associate pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Providence, Rhode Island.

Rev. Chhangte was ordained by Chestnut Street Baptist Church in Philadelphia in January 1997, and was called to be the pastor the same year. While in Seminary, he worked as a minister for Urban Outreach at Christ's Presbyterian Church in South Philadelphia. He also worked for the Asian American Youth Association serving the immigrant community and as a counselor at George Wharton Pepper Middle School. He graduated from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary with an MDiv in 1995.

Rev. Chhangte originally hails from Mizoram in Northeast India. His parents, now retired, were Baptist Missionaries in Tezpur, Assam in India.

Parma Baptist "Community" Church is located at 4997 Ridge Road West, near Route 259 in Spencerport. Worship Service begins at 10 a.m. each Sunday, with Sunday School following the service.
