Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks appointed Larry Staub to serve as Director of the Monroe County Office of Communications and Special Events.

Prior to working in the County Clerk's Office, Staub served as Chief of Staff of New York State Senator Jim Alesi (R/C-Perinton), beginning immediately after Alesi's special election win in February 1996.

In January 1993, Staub was named Chief of Staff to the newly elected Republican majority of the Monroe County Legislature. He had previously worked for the Legislature's Republican Caucus while they were in the Minority, beginning in 1988. In 1987, Staub served as Deputy Clerk of the Monroe County Legislature. Staub earned a bachelor of arts degree from the State University of New York at Albany in 1986, graduating magna cum laude. He resides in the town of Perinton.

As Director of Communications, Staub will report directly to Brooks and serve as her chief spokesperson. By virtue of his position, he will also serve as Monroe County's Public Information Officer (P.I.O.) and Records Access Officer (R.A.O.). In addition to supervising the day-to-day operations of the County's Communications Office, he will be responsible for the Publication Services Division.
