approves proposed school budget

The Churchville-Chili Board of Education approved a proposed school budget of $55,577,308 for the 2004-2005 school year. This proposed budget represents an estimated tax rate increase of 4.28 percent. The proposed budget is a 5.52 percent spending increase over the current budget.

District residents may cast their vote on the proposed budget on Tuesday, May 18, from noon to 9 p.m. at Churchville-Chili Intermediate School Gym.

Residents will vote on two resolutions. Voters will decide whether to approve the proposed budget of $55,577,308 as presented by the Churchville-Chili Board of Education for the 2004-2005 school year. Voters will decide on a resolution that would authorize CCCSD to purchase eight school buses, seven 66 passenger school buses and one wheelchair bus.

Residents can learn more about the proposed 2004-05 school budget at a budget presentation. A schedule of these presentations are as follows:

  • Monday, April 26 at C-C Junior High School Forum at 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 27 at C-C Intermediate School Library at 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 29 at C-C Transportation Center at 5 p.m.
  • Monday, May 3 at Fairbanks Road School Cafeteria at 6:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 4 Budget Hearing, C-C Administration Board Room at 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 6 at Chestnut Ridge School Cafeteria at 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 13 at Churchville Elementary School at 6:30 p.m.
