Kincaid triple drops Cadets

Joe Kincaid's two out-two strike, bases loaded triple in the first inning drove in three runs and starting pitcher Nate Parrino struck out nine batters over six innings as Class AA defending champ Brockport defeated Hilton 4-3 in high school baseball.

In the Brockport first, Matt Rath, Andy Parrino and Chris Masiello walked to load the bases. Rath then scored on a wild pitch by Hilton starting pitcher Nick Napolitano for a 1-0 Blue Devil lead. Kyle Maroney then walked to again load the bases leading to Kincaid's opposite field hit that was helped by the 30+ mile per hour winds.

Hilton put runners on base in every inning and finally scored in the fourth. Ryan Sullivan drew a one-out walk and stole second. Steve Liotta then beat out an infield hit putting runners on first and third. Alex Coffey stroked a two-out single to right, scoring Sullivan, making the score 4-1.

The Cadets scored another run in the fifth inning. Justin McEvoy and Erik Schwind reached and were moved up on a sacrifice bunt by Charlie Previte. Napolitano singled to score one run and the Cadets loaded the bases but failed to further close the gap.

Lefthander Napolitano, heading to Boston College in the fall, pitched a complete game for the Cadets and registered twelve of the eighteen Brockport outs via strikeout and allowed just two hits. Sophomore Nate Parrino was virtually matching the senior strikeout for strikeout before giving way to Chris Masiello in the seventh after walking the leadoff batter. Masiello recorded a strikeout and a groundout to the last two batters to pick up the save as Brockport improved to 3-2 this season.
