C-C Sports Booster Athletic Banquet June 2

The Churchville-Chili Sports Booster Club will host its annual Sports Banquet honoring the district's athletes on June 2. The banquet will be held at the Diplomat Party House. The doors open at 5:30 and dinner is served at 6 p.m. Scholarship winners will be announced at the banquet.

The guest speaker for this year's banquet will be University of Buffalo's (UB) head football coach, Jim Hofher. Hofher was named head football coach at UB in 2001. In 2002, he coached the nation's youngest team - a club that started 11 freshmen in its season finale. He has seen four of his Bulls sign National Football League (NFL) contracts in his first two seasons at Buffalo, including three on current NFL rosters. Other highlights in Hofher's career is being head coach for eight seasons at Cornell, as well as being the coach with the most wins in the Big Red's Ivy League History. During his collegiate coaching career, Hofher coached in five bowl games.

Tickets to the sports banquet are available at the Churchville-Chili Athletic Director's office located in Churchville-Chili Intermediate School or at the Churchville-Chili Senior High School bookstore during school hours. The Churchville-Chili Sports Booster Club subsidizes tickets for athletes. Ticket prices are $6 for student athletes participating in JV or Varsity sports for the 2003-2004 school season and $14 for students and adults.

The Diplomat Party House is located at 1 Diplomat Way, off Lyell Avenue in Rochester.
