Spencerport Schools honors volunteers

Spencerport Schools recently honored the contribution of more than 1,100 volunteers who donated more than 25,000 hours of volunteer time during the 2003-04 school year. Three volunteers, Bob Dennis, Vicki DeRooy, and Lauri Fallon, contributed more than 1,000 hours each. Dennis is active with the district-wide athletic program, DeRooy divided her volunteer hours among Cosgrove Middle School and Canal View and Munn elementary schools, and Fallon spent most of her volunteer time at the Munn School.

Other volunteers who contributed more than 100 hours throughout the district are: Rosanne Bourne, Marilyn Diehl, Jennifer Dustin, Sandy Elliott, Karen Flanagan, Joanne French, Janice Fridman, Karen Gafner, Lanay Garwig, Mike Gorman, Nora Hampton, Barbara Hartman, Gina Inclima, Linda Lehtonen, Peter Lomaglio, Christine Makowski, Mary Ellen Markant, Pat Merritt, DeeDee O'Neal, Lisa Orlando, Sally Pascucci, Chuck Pennica, Bob Persia, Keith Rich, Donna Romashko, Marcia Sisson, Barbara Strine, Brenda Thornton, Janet Tyler, Marilyn Vasbinder, Norm Wolfe and Joanne Zazzaro.

Spencerport volunteers are especially active in elementary school classrooms and in all extracurricular activities. They serve on school and district-wide organizations and committees, and often enrich programs through their fundraising activities.
