Blue Devils win
Class AAA Crown

After knocking off top-seeded Fairport 3-2 in the semi-finals, 4th-seeded Brockport advanced to the Class AAA Section Five championship game and defeated #2 Rush-Henrietta 9-4 for their second consecutive title. Brockport had lost to both Fairport and R-H twice each during the regular season.

In a mirror image of last season's final game, the Blue Devils fell behind 3-0 before the offense erupted for eight runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. Brockport's John Colapietro knocked in one run with a bunt and Andy Parrino drove in another with a single to cut the lead to 3-2. Alva English scored two more with a single down the left field line and Eric Toogood tripled to right to plate two more. Kyle Maroney had a RBI groundout and an R-H error allowed another to score to complete the scoring in the inning.

When the Royal Comets loaded the bases with two outs in the sixth inning, Parrino replaced English on the mound. He allowed one run when he hit a batter before registering four straight strikeouts to close out the game and pick up a save.

Brockport raised their record to 15-7 and a date with Greece Olympia to determine who would advance to the state tournament.
