Community Free Library presents Elizabeth Tone awards

Each year, the Community Free Library in Holley presents the Elizabeth Tone award to a junior in the Holley and Kendall High School. The award was established in 1976 by the Friends of the Library in memory of Elizabeth Tone. She was an English teacher at Kendall High School and one of the founding members of the Friends of the Library.

The two awards of twenty-five dollars each are given in recognition of the student's improvement in English during their freshman, sophomore, and junior years. The student is selected by the faculty of the English department. This year's recipients are Christine Gannett, Kendall, and Lucas Doty, Holley, who received their awards during their school's annual awards ceremony.
