Special Memorial Day ceremony honors
local veterans

More than 1,200 students at the Brockport A.D. Oliver Middle School were ushered from the school to honor local veterans at a special ceremony on Friday, May 28. Students sang the National Anthem, recited the Pledge of Allegiance, read poems, and presented a wreath in memory of deceased area veterans from the Civil War, Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean and Vietnam War. They observed a moment of silence to honor all the men and women who have lost their lives during the War in Iraq, including two local soldiers from Brighton. Shown (l-r): Lt. Col.
