Clark named Hilton
Female Athlete of the Year

After being named Underclass Female Athlete of the Year last season, Hilton senior Marisa Clark wrapped up a successful sports career at Hilton High School by being named Hilton High School Female Athlete of the Year for 2003-2004. Athletic Director Denney Wilcox said, "Marisa was an absolute joy to watch and the Hilton Cadets are going to miss her very, very much."

Clark was a four-year varsity basketball starter as a point guard and shooting guard. She earned All New York State, 1st Team All Greater Rochester, Birds Eye Foods Division I Player of the Year and a Ronald McDonald All Star for 2004; All New York State, 2nd team All Greater Rochester honors in 2003. Clark was also voted 1st team All Monroe County three times (2002-2004) and 2nd Team All Monroe County as a freshman during her career. Clark set a school record for steals with 274, finished 2nd in school history at 993 career points, and was 2nd in assists with 301. In her four Hilton Hy Burritt Tournaments, Clark was voted Tournament MVP an unprecedented three consecutive times. She was also named to the All Tournament Team all fours years she played in the Brockport Katie Sweeting Tournament. She was named MVP of the team three consecutive years and team best defensive player as a freshman. Clark was named team captain her junior and senior season and during that time the Lady Cadets won their first Sectional crown for 23-year Girls Basketball Coach Mike Mayer in 2003.

Clark was also a standout as a three-year varsity soccer starter at midfield striker, earning 2nd Team All Greater Rochester her senior year while also garnering three 1st Team All Monroe County awards (2002-2004). She was voted the team best offensive player as a junior and was team captain as a senior. She finished her career with 34 goals and 27 assists and was coached by Deb Lipani.

Clark resumed her softball career her junior season after running track as a freshman and sophomore. As the starting centerfielder both years, she was named All Monroe County 2nd Team after both seasons. Illustrating her athleticism, according to her father, as a junior, she was called on by her coach to fill in for injured shortstop Rachel Clonick and performed tremendously at a position she had not played since 8th grade. Her softball coach was Amy Hargather.

In the classroom Marisa carried a 90+ average and earned honor or high honor recognition in every marking period during high school. Her consistency in the classroom earned her New York State Scholar Athlete in all three sports.

After being recruited for both soccer and basketball, Clark has decided to stay close to home. She will play basketball at Medaille College, a small NCAA private school in Buffalo in the Alleghany Mountain Conference, where she will be a liberal arts student.

Her father, Michael, and her mother, Cheryl, both live in Hilton.
