Family collects cans to help trolley station project

Five-year-old Alanna Harrington of Spencerport with the help of her family, has collected soda cans and donations totaling $55 for the Spencerport trolley station project. Under the direction of Bernie Cubitt, the trolley station has been renovated and money is now needed to move it to its original site in downtown Spencerport. Alanna was inspired to help after hearing a presentation at the Ogden Farmers' Library about the trolley project. Her great-granddaughter, Leonard Elmes was one of the first to contribute to the project when it was first launched last fall. Shown in this photo taken in May at the depot are: Leonard Elmes; his daughter, Linda Harrington; his granddaughter, Margie Harrington with her daughter, Alanna and son Alexander and project organizer Bernie Cubitt. Fundraising for the project is ongoing. Contact Ogden Historian Carol Coburn for information. Submitted photo.
