Brockport Merchants add new showcase to July event

This year, the Brockport Merchants Association is adding a Saturday feature, the Community Showcase, to the weekend events set for July 8, 9 and 10 in downtown Brockport. In addition to Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m to 10 p.m., Main Street will be closed on Saturday from King Street to the Strand Theater from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local clubs, non-profit organizations, and community service groups are invited to set up a table on the street at that time free. A bike show and performance courtesy of Bicycle Outfitters is also planned for Saturday.

Thursday kicks off the Super Bargain Extravaganza. Merchants will be cleaning house and shoppers will be the beneficiaries. A highlight of the day is the traditional evening performance by the Brockport High School Band.

Friday is Cool Kids Day with mega events and activities. Steve Appleton has put together a day with games, entertainments, and the Canimal project. A live band Friday evening tops off the fun. Friday events are co-sponsored by many local businesses and organizations such as BISCO, Lakeside Hospital, Spurr Motors, and both the Town of Sweden and Village of Brockport.
