Chief Hutchison
retires from the
Parma Special Police

Frank W. Hutchison of Parma, long time volunteer Auxiliary Police Officer, Special Police Officer and Civil Defense Administrator for Town of Parma, retired after 30 years of service to the Town of Parma on June 14.

Sergeant Lester A. Wilson, a 13-year veteran of the department, was appointed by the Parma Town Board on June 1, to replace Hutchison as chief of the 12 member Special Police department and Civil Defense Administrator effective June 15. Wilson, 33, resides in Hamlin with his wife and son, and is employed by the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority in Rochester.

The Parma Special Police is an all-volunteer organization funded by the Town of Parma. The unit assists various agencies and organizations during town events, parades and emergencies by providing crowd, traffic control and other services. All members are peace officers who are trained at the Monroe County Public Safety Training Facility.
