Alan Bader, 54, dies suddenly

The Town of Sweden suffered a loss of one of their own Thursday, June 24 when Alan Bader, 54, suffered a fatal heart attack.

Bader, who had been a public figure for more than 28 years, served as Sweden's assessor. He is survived by his wife, Elaine, and their children, Mark and Mindy. (A full obituary will appear in next week's edition of Suburban News and Hamlin-Clarkson Herald).

Calling hours are Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fowler Funeral Home, 340 West Avenue, Brockport. A memorial service is planned Sunday, June 27 at 2 p.m. at the Sweden Community Center.

Memorial donations will be accepted at attorney James Bell's office, 6076 Brockport-Spencerport Road, Brockport, NY 14420 for scholarship funds for Mr. Bader's children. Donations can be made to the Mark/Mindy Bader Scholarship Fund.

•Speers, Patricia A., May 17, 2004 age 67 in Punta Gorda, Florida. She is survived by her husband, James L. Speers; her husband, James L. Speers; her daughter, Rebecca (Kenneth) McEntire; her son, Jeffrey (Karen) Speers; her mother, Marian Didas; her sister, Marcia (William) Brainard; her brother, William Didas; her brother-in-law, John (Donna) Speers; and four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

•Conte, Carmella A., June 15, 2004, at age 62. Wife of Richard E. Conte; mother of George D. Conte and Tina M. Conte; mother-in-law of Sue Conte; sister of Rosalie (George) Phillippsen, Ronald (Michelle) Ranalli, Joyce Ranalli, Giovanna Tuttobene and Craig N. Bullock; grandmother of Rocco, Maria, Richard and Danielle Conte. Mother of the late Richard G. Conte and sister of the late Dominic Ranalli.

BROCKPORT

Anheier, Roberta S., June 20, 2004, at the age of 76. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Alvin; daughters, Christine Hunt, Denise (Kevin) Bedard and Erin (Russ Bosch) Anheier of Michigan; grandchildren, Brenden and Lindsay Bedard; nephew, Norman Anheier of Washington.

CHURCHVILLE

Kissel, Ethel C., Age 87, died on June 18, 2004. Predeceased by husband, Ralph Dale; brothers, William, DeRoy and Maurice Church. Survived by children, Linda Kissel of Saratoga Springs, John and wife Pamela of Rochester; sister, Helen Nichols of Hamlin; grandson, Aaron Kissel of Washington, D.C.; granddaughter, Abbie Kissel of Syracuse; numerous nieces and nephews.

Schultz, Edward J., June 17, 2004, age 79. Survived by his wife, Bertha; children, Carol (Ed) Arcouette, James (Pat) Schultz, Robert Schultz, David (Linda) Schultz, Nancy (Renard) Powell, Cathy Schultz, Randy (Debbie) Schultz; brother, Arthur (Laura) Schultz; sister-in-law, Alma; 10 grandchildren; five great-grand-children; many nieces and nephews.

Services were held privately. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.


HILTON

Beebe, Robert L., June 19, 2004. Former resident of Cuba, New York. Predeceased by his wife, Loretta; and parents, Ernie and Ruth. Survived by his children, Daniel (Barbara) Beebe, Thomas (Kathy) Beebe, Mary Anne (Cobey) Shelton, Helen (Mike) Perez and Linda (Brayton) Tambs; eight grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Robert graduated from Wellsville High School, worked for the Wellsville Daily Reporter, served in the U.S. Army during WWII, operated a dairy farm, retired from Acme Electric and served as Justice of the Peace for the Town of Lyndon.

No prior services. Burial in Wellsville. Memorials can be made to the library of the donor's choice.


HOLLEY

Brundage, Richard A., age 84, died June 18, 2004. Beloved husband of the late Julia (LaMont) Brundage. Loving father of Peter (Joan) Brundage of Churchville; John (Elvira) Brundage of Maryland; Paul Brundage of Marathon; David Brundage of Holley; and Peggy (Randy) Cook of Batavia. Brother of Retha Francis of LeRoy and grandfather of the late Leah Grace Brundage; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

KENDALL

•Serbicki, Gladys, age 85, formerly of Utica and currently a resident of Kendall, died June 19, 2004, in Rochester. Her survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and John McNeil of Clarendon; a son, Jeffrey and his wife, Darlene Serbicki of Kendall; six loving children, John McNeil Jr., Daniel, Aaron, Benjamin, Elisabeth and Rachel Serbicki; a great-grandchild, John McNeil III and a sister, Helen and her husband Walter Freeman of Utica; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Bernard, John, Stanley, and her sister, Julie. Pre-deceased by husband Emil Serbicki in 1983.

A Mass of Christian Burial was said June 23 at Holy Trinity Church, Utica. Interment, Holy Trinity Cemetery.

•Sorg, Theresia, age 84, June 21, 2004. Predeceased by her husband, Jakob in March of 2002. She is survived by her children, Alfred Sorg of Kent, Helmut (Terry) Sorg of Arizona, Linda (Don) Siracusa of Greece, Charles Sorg of Kent and John (Stormy) Sorg of Kendall; four grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
