Ducks made a big splash as volunteers launched them into the canal for last year's annual Duck Derby. This year's event will be held on Sunday, August 15 at 4 p.m. during the Brockport Summer Arts Festival.

Duck Derby
receives support
from businesses

Once again, Brockport Integrated Service and Community Organization (BISCO) and Lakeside Memorial Hospital are teaming up for the annual Duck Derby being held during the Brockport Summer Arts Festival. Proceeds from this year's event will again benefit Brockport community projects.

Underwriters for the event include: Brad London Productions, Brockport Rotary Club, Eastman Savings and Loan Federal Credit Union, Edward Jones Investments, First Niagara Bank, Fowler Funeral Home, JP Morgan Chase, SUNY Brockport, Wal-Mart and Wegmans. The support of these companies is greatly appreciated by BISCO and Lakeside officials who said "these businesses have shown their commitment to the future success of their community by providing their support."

BISCO and Lakeside's partnership last year raised over $21,000. With the BISCO donation, the Brockport Fire Department was able to upgrade existing life saving equipment. A Hurst Tool Spreader and miscellaneous components for the Jaws of Life rescue tool were purchased. Lakeside Memorial Hospital received a new Life Pak 20 defibrillator for the Emergency Department.

Tickets for the Duck Derby are available at Lakeside Foundation, or through any service club member. Call 395-6049 for tickets or information. The Arts Festival will be August 14 and 15. The derby will run Sunday, August 15 at 4 p.m. at the Main Street canal bridge.
