Bright Raven gymnasts capture awards

Bright Raven gymnasts brought home awards following competition in the USA Gymnastics Upstate New York Championships.

In the Level 5 competition for gymnasts ages seven to nine, Emily Thomas of Chili was named champion on two events, uneven parallel bars (9.525) and floor exercise (9.65). She was also awarded third place on balance beam (9.60) and second all around with a total score of 37.325. In the 10 to 11 age division, Rhiann Korth of Avon earned eighth place on vault (9.05).

Bright Raven's Level 4 team was awarded third place. One hundred fifty gymnasts represented nine clubs with Amanda Kubitz of Spencerport earning the highest vault score (9.75). Emily Arnold of Gates finished third on bars (9.60) and seventh all around (37.55). Kristina Nupp of Churchville was fourth on floor exercise (9.55) and sixth on vault (9.575). The team's top seven scores in each event comprised the team's total of 261.50. Bright Raven finished third, just behind Orchard Park and Niagara Gymnastics.
