Carlton to receive funding to revitalize waterfront

Funds will be flowing to the Town of Carlton for the construction of a 200-linear foot transient docking facility at Orleans County Marine Park in the hamlet of Point Breeze on Oak Orchard River and Lake Ontario. The $50,000 Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) grant was awarded recently.

"This endeavor, which is being undertaken in partnership with Orleans County, will not only relieve congestion at the boat launch site, it will also provide boaters with linkages to land-based businesses," Assemblyman Charlie Nesbitt said. "I commend Governor Pataki for his commitment to projects such as this, which are vital to the growth of waterfront communities in our area."

The money earmarked for Carlton is part of $352,000 in funding aimed at refurbishing waterfronts in Orleans, Chautauqua, Monroe and Ontario Counties through the EPF's Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP).
