Utility work begins on Rt. 33/
259 intersection in North Chili

Road work is slated to begin July 13 at the intersection of Buffalo Road (Route 33) and Union Street (Route 259) in North Chili, Monroe County. This preparation work will preface the highway reconstruction project that will widen the intersection. Other preliminary work will begin later this summer, according to the state Department of Transportation. Much of the pavement work is not expected to take place until next spring.

This work is to install underground conduit for electric lines. The work will take place in the roadway and will require temporary alternating one-way traffic during the daytime hours. The work is expected to take about a month to complete.

Access to nearby businesses and residential driveways will remain open.
