AREA

•Dercqu, Sr., Robert J., of Lyndonville, formerly of Medina, died July 12 at the Buffalo Veterans Hospital. He was predeceased by a granddaughter Amanda (Dercqu) Nicholoson in 2003, and a great grandson Joshua Reynolds in 1989. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Helen J. Dercqu, and their two children, Susan (Jim) Moy of Spencerport, and Robert (Anna) Dercqu Jr. of Lyndonville. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Lisa (Mark) Dixon of Hamlin, Robert (Wanda) Dercqu III, and Peter Dercqu both of Lyndonville; seven great grandchildren: Jesse (Jen) Dixon, of Spencerport, Ashleigh Dixon of Hamlin, Robert Dercqu IV of Lyndonville, Faith Diamond Dercqu, Aleisha Dercqu, Autumn Lynn Dercqu, and Jonathan David Schroth Jr. all of Lyndonville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Owens-Illinois, Brockport in 1984.

Funeral Services were held July 16 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Albion. Burial in Boxwood Cemetery, Medina.


•Farley, Alice A. (Zikas), July 9, 2004, age 81 while visiting her family from Florida. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara DellaVella and Michele 'Mickey" Rodak, her brother, Gus Ruginis; five grandchildren; three great granddaughters.

ALBION

•Preston, Rose A., died July 11, 2004. Predeceased by her husband, Ronald Preston, in 1985. She is survived by her children: Diane (Larry Baker) Kilborn, Gary (Lynette) Preston, Deborah (David) Kinsey, Norene (David Elmer) Dragon, Marybeth (Thomas) Prentice, and Mark Hartliben; sister, Charlene (Kenneth) Hollinger; sisters-in-law Martha Restivo and Jean (Ralph) Miller; 16 grandchildren; four great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Albion and the Albion VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Funeral Services were held July 15 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Albion. Burial in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Donations can be made to the charity of one's choice in her memory.


BERGEN

•Orto, Laurie Ann (Stone), July 7, 2004, in Largo, Florida at age 45. She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Orto; her son, Robert Lawson of Florida; step-son David (Michelle) Orto of Churchville; step grandchildren, Ashley, David and William; her parents Ted and Lois Stone of Bergen; her sister Valarie (Steve) Casas of Chili; brothers Lawrence Stone of Texas, Donald Stone, Daniel Stone and Brian (April) Stone, all of Bergen; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services was held July 13 at Stone Church Presbyterian Church, Bergen. Interment, Stone Church Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Hospice of the Florida Sun Coast or to the Mofitt Cancer Center in her memory.


BROCKPORT

•Stevens, Lloyd, On July 8, 2004, at the age of 93. He is predeceased by his wife, Lena; sons, Russell and Ronnie Stevens. Survived by his children, Robert (Hazel) Stevens, Gloria (Don) Schickler, Mary Lou (Bud) Wood, Betty (Rob) Howard, Roger Stevens, Louise (John) Thomas, Sally (Darryl) Anderson, Randy Stevens and Vicki (Van) Sanzotta; 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services and interment were private. Those wishing can contribute to The Grand Ville, Mary Regina.


•Swartout, Eileen May (Tavenner), Widow of Dr. Sherwin Swartout of Brockport, died at Lakeside Memorial Hospital July 7, 2004, after a brief illness. She is predeceased by her husband, Sherwin; brother, Eugene Tavenner and one grandchild, Jesse Swartout. She is survived by a sister, Laurel Novak of Pueblo, Colorado; three children, Kate Michelle of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Kevin Swartout and his wife, Charlotte, of Brockport, and Torin Swartout and his wife, Anne, of Ridgefield, Connecticut; nine grand-children, and five great-grandchildren. She was a founding member of the Monroe Historical Society and an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Brockport.
Burial will be beside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Brockport on August 7 at 11 a.m.


BYRON

•Matthews, Andrew Jacob, July 6, 2004, infant son of Phillip (Cynthia) Matthews; twin brother of Alexander Patrick Matthews; grandson of Jim (Ann) Oehler, Dick (Lorrie) Auble, Ed (Cynthia) Matthews. Also survived by several uncles, aunts and cousins.

CHURCHVILLE

•Sailsbery, Sandy Conley, age 55, of Bluffton, Indiana, died May 13, 2004, at Hospice Home of Fort Wayne. The wife of former Northern Wells Community Schools superintendent Dr. Mike Sailsbery, she was a teacher at Northwest Elementary School in Decatur for the past 19 years. Born June 17, 1948 to Gerald (Bud) and Lucille (Sandy) Sanders Conley, she graduated in 1966 from Churchville-Chili High School in Churchville. In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Sailsbery is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mike (Kristen) Sundin of Aurora, Colorado and Mrs. Brian (Michaele) Sheltz of Bluffton; a sister, Mrs. Dave (Karen) Foster of North Chili; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Michael Sailsbery in 2000.

Funeral Services were held May 18 at Hope Missionary Church. Interment, Garden of the Chimes in Elm Grove Cemetery. Donations can be made in her memory to the Wells County Foundation - Angel of Hope Memorial Park, 109 North Scott Street, Bluffton, Indiana 46714.

•Johnson, Patricia J. "Pat," July 4, 2004 at age 34. Predeceased by her sister, Barbara Jean Finerfrock. She is survived by her six children, Billy, Nicole, Johnny, Ashley, Miranda, Josh; parents, William and Janice Johnson; grandma Margaret Johnson; sisters, Judy (Bill) McGinn, Janice Gerken; nephew, Derek Smith.

•Passarell, Philip G., Age 80, July 11, 2004. Survived by devoted wife of sixty years, Florence; daughters, Sally (Robert) Luce and Jan Voss; sons, Roger (Amy) and Dale (Lori); grandchildren, Robert and Jeffrey Luce, Jessica and Martha Trusselle, Jennifer, Julie, Roger Jr. and Philip Passarell, Ashley Passarell; sister, Irene Parmalee; brothers, Kenneth and Neil (Patricia); many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. •Stephan, Marie V. (Forsythe) (Rombough), Formerly of Gouverneur, died July 12, 2004 at her home. She was predeceased by her husbands, Stanley Forsythe and William Stephan. She is survived by her son, Norman (Virginia) Forsythe, Germantown, Wisconsin; daughter Diane Rombough, Holley; grandchildren, David (Dynette) Rombough, Quantico Virginia, Darcy Anne Rombough, Holley, Brian and Kevin Forsythe, Germantown, Wisconsin; great-grandchildren, Natalee, Kara and Seth Rombough; foster granddaughter, Christina Siwko.

•Stettner, Norbert F., Age 66, July 8, 2004. Predeceased by his brother, Frederick. Survived by son, James; daughters, Mary (Ross) Murdoch, Lisa Stettner; grandson, Joseph Anthony; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was said July 12 at St. Mary R.C. Church. Private interment. Memorials can be made to the Holley Fire Department.


•Tonas, Dimitraki "Jimmy," Age 39, died suddenly, July 7, 2004. Predeceased by his father, Christos Tonas in 2003. Survived by mother, Emorfia Tonas of Holley; his loved companion, Lori Rife of Clarendon; sisters, Alexandra Tonas-Meng of Greece, Anastasia (Naoum) Nedelkos of Webster, Sofia (Agisilaos) Tavelaris of Brockport; and brother, Steve (Kim) Tonas of Kendall; beloved godmother, Zoi Kerkezi of Syracuse; 13 nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles, cousins.

NORTH CHILI

•Kilbourn, Terence M. "Terry," July 9, 2004, at age 60. Predeceased by his parents William and Elizabeth Kilbourn. He is survived by his wife Floy Kilbourn (VanSlooten); his two daughters, Kimberly Coleman and Trisha Kilbourn; his granddaughters; his granddaughters, Aurora and Makayla Coleman; his brother Timothy (Inma) Kilbourn of Maryland; sisters Betsy (Chet) Ambruoso, Wendy Kilbourn and Barbara Cooper all of Harrisville, New York; his nieces and nephews Andrea (Ray) Ford, Julie (Brad) Trask of Ohio and Angelyne Cooper; father and mother-in-law, James and Charlene Van Slooten of Arizona and many other loving family members and friends. Terry retired from Delphi in January 2004, was a member of the Harvey C. Noone American Legion Post #954 of Churchville.

SPENCERPORT

•Collier, James W., formerly of Hillside Drive, Spencerport, died June 19, 2004 in Port St. Lucie, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marilynn Morgan Collier; one daughter, Donna Hamilton of Rochester; five sons, James Jr. of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, Stephen of Santa Cruz, California, Richard of Dallas, Texas, Robert of Tampa, Florida and David of Brockport; 14 grandchildren; brother, John, of Belize. He spent three and a half years in the Air Force; was a member of the Spencerport American Legion and an EMT for the Spencerport Ambulance for 12 years. He retired from Eastman Kodak after 34 years.

A Memorial Service will be held July 22 at Brockport Free Methodist Church, 7 p.m. Donations can be made to the Spencerport Ambulance in his memory.


•Nickler, Myrna L., July 7, 2004 at age 67. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Donald A. Nickler; her daughters Linda Nickler and Elizabeth (Joseph) Murrer; her step-son Russell (Doris) Nickler; granddaughter Shannon Elizabeth; her brothers, Lawrence (Joan), Claude (Sherry) and Gerald (Pam) Lanphere; her sister Dawn (Al) Spencer; several nieces and nephews and a very special friend Ethel Frantz.

•Reichert, Louise G., Monday, July 12, 2004 at age 86. Predeceased by her husband Ralph A. Reichert, her sister Irena Waddell and her brothers, Leon and Russell Orcutt. She is survived by her children Gail (Robert) West and Gary (Karen) Reichert; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Russ, Emma Reichert, Brian (Jennifer) Reichert, Amanda Reichert; her great-grandchildren, Sophia, Adrianna and Alaina Reichert and Abigail Russ; her sister-in-law Georgeanne Orcutt; several nieces and nephews. Louise would best be remembered as a piano teacher for over 40 years.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated July 16 at St. Jude's Church. Interment White Haven Memorial Park. Donations can be directed to a charity of one's choice.


•Schubert, Charles H., on July 11, 2004. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Gerry; his children, Kenny, Kurt, Karen, Kevin and Kim; grandchildren, Jenna, Kara, Hunte and Luke. Charlie was a U.S. Navy veteran, served 48 years in the postal service, including 15 years as the Postmaster of Rochester.
