Local women compete in Black Belt training

Women Black Belts, from Caparco Martial Arts in Chili, attended Special Training 2004 at Stonehill College in Massachusetts. Special training is a four-day martial arts training weekend for women martial artists, sponsored by the National Women's Martial Arts Federation (NWMAF). NWMAF's purpose is to share skills and resources, promote excellence in the martial arts and encourage the widest range of women and girls to train.

Black Belts Emily Egan, Kelsey Egan, Claudia Egan, Katharine Kalamaroff, Shawn Grozek and Master Vicki Preston participated in workouts in the arts of Karate, Judo, Tae Kwon Do, JuJutsu, Iaido, Aikido and Tai Chi.
