Hamlin Reminiscences sought for forthcoming book

Area residents are invited to submit their recollections or those of their ancestors relevant to any phase of Hamlin's history to the historian for a forthcoming book. This extensive work, "Remembering Hamlin: 1802-2002," is expected to be published in early winter. It will include separate chapters concerning the history of Walker, Morton, Kendall Mills, Troutburg and North Hamlin in addition to central Hamlin. Businesses and schools are well represented, but reminiscences of recreation and the Depression years are particularly desirable.

Submissions may be mailed to Mary Smith, Historian, 864 Walker Lake Ontario Road, Hilton, New York 14468 or dropped off at either the town clerk's office or North Star History Center as soon as possible.

All submissions will be considered for publication and will be permanently filed in the office of the historian. Photographs will be returned if desired.

For additional information contact the historian at 964-2101 or 964-7385.
