St. Bonaventure University announces dean's list for spring semester 2004, students from this area include:

  • Gregory C. Mahns, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Mahns of Hilton. Mahns is a junior majoring in biology;
  • Bridget A. Quinn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Quinn of Brockport. She is a senior, majoring in elementary education/special education;
  • Sara E. Maurer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Maurer of North Chili. Maurer is sophomore majoring in journalism-mass communication;
  • Holly M. Volkmuth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Volkmuth of Spencerport. Volkmuth is a senior majoring in elementary education/special education;
  • Kelly E. Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard A. Smith of Spencerport. She is a senior majoring in elementary education/special education; and
  • Shannon M. Young, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Todd G. Young of Kendall. Young is a senior majoring in education.

SUNY Plattsburgh has announced that Renee Bonneau of Rochester was named to the spring 2004 dean's list.


Shanna Sengillo, daughter of Michael and Eileen Sengillo of Hilton, has been chosen as a state finalist for the title of Miss New York Teen USA Pageant to be held in Albany, in November. She will be a junior this year at Hilton High School.


Kasandra Cliff of Hamlin has been named to the spring 2004 dean's list at SUNY Albany. She is the daughter of Renee and Dale Cliff. Cliff is majoring in biology.

Marine Corps Pfc. Deserae L. Golojuch, a 2000 graduate of Spencerport High School, completed the Administrative Clerk Course at Personnel Administration School, Marine Corps Service Support School at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.


Second Lieutenant Nicholas A. Saunders, who is a May 2004 graduate of Clarkson University in Potsdam with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering, was commissioned into the United States Army after completing the ROTC Program at Clarkson. He will be attending the Officers' Basic Course at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, in September, after which he will serve as a Platoon Leader with the 479th Corps of Engineers in Canton, New York. Saunders is the son of David and Barbara Saunders, formerly of Ogden, now residents of Florida. He is a 2000 graduate of Spencerport High School.
