•Smith, Howard E. "Howie," August 25, 2004 at age 74. Survived by his wife of 32 years Ruby Smith; his children Pam (Stephen) Butler, Kim (Desmond Miller) Smith, Dawn (Keith Martin) Rogers and Arden Brent (Tracey) Smith; his grandchildren, Stephen Carl Jr., Peter, Brandon and Megan Butler, Leanne (Bleddyn) Wilson, Desi Miller, Breeze and Bambi Rogers, Matthew Martin, Andrew, Eileen and Tyler Smith; his great grandchildren, Christopher Hill, Emily Rose Bills, Gavan and Avery Wilson, Skylar and Jonah Rogers; his sister Alberta (Mendal) Dick; his niece Darla (Mark) Wheaton; his nephews Jeff (Saundra) Dick and David (Cindy) Dick.

A Memorial Service was held August 30 at the Brockport Free Methodist Church. Interment at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to Brockport Free Methodist Church Building Fund, 6787 Fourth Section Road, Brockport, NY 14420 in his memory.


BROCKPORT

•Smith, Franklin V., 58, of Tallahassee Florida, born and raised in Brockport, died August 20, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Joy M. Smith; a son, Corey Smith; two daughters, Darlene Brisson, Luanna Lacey; a stepdaughter Katherine Herbert and a brother Jack Smith and a sister Luanna Wolff; also five grandchildren.


HILTON

•Lintz, Sherry C., CASAC, August 25, 2004, at age 54. Survived by her husband, David; four step-children, Thea, Eric, Sarah and Michelle (Roger) Martone; sister of Alan (Barbara) Cohen; sister-in-law of Janice Howard; a dear friend of Nancy Flad; nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Dale Cohen. Mrs. Lintz served 30 years as a social worker and ended her career as an Administrator of the Rochester City Drug Court.

Funeral Services were held August 27 at the H. E. Turner and Co. Funeral Home, Batavia. Memorial donations can be made to Temple Emanuel, 124 Bank Street, Batavia, NY 14020 or GRHC Hospice, 70 Metro Park, Rochester, NY 14623.


SPENCERPORT

•Peer, Walter A. "Walt" August 29, 2004 at age 83. Survived by his wife of 55 years Barbara (Kerns) Peer; his children Jonathan (Jenny) Peer, Laurie (Don) Flood, Chris (Laura) Peer, Tim Peer and Betsy (Steve) Hale; grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica), David, Andrew, Maureen and Kelly Peer, Lucas and Tyler Hale; his brother Rodger (Margaret) Peer; his sister Marilyn Scott; several nieces and nephews. Walt was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University, a Veteran of World War II and retired from Eastman Kodak Company in 1983.

A Funeral Mass was said September 1 at St. John's Church, Spencerport. Interment St. John's Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the McAuley Manor at Mercycare, 1 Bethesda Drive, Hornell, NY 14843 or School of the Holy Childhood, 100 Groton Parkway, Rochester, New York 14623 in his memory.
