Roberts Community Music School hires new faculty

The Roberts Community Music School (RCMS) has hired four new faculty for the upcoming year.

Heidi Helm will be teaching Kindermusik® classes for ages newborn-7. A licensed kindermusik instructor, Helm holds a bachelor of arts degree in music from Roberts Wesleyan College.

Allison Franco, oboe, is an active orchestral performer and also teaches at Nazareth College, SUNY Geneseo, and Hochstein Music School. She holds a masters of music degree in oboe from the Eastman School.

Serving as a new horn instructor will be Alden Snell, a junior high band director in the Kendall Central School District. He is currently pursuing a masters of music degree at Eastman.

Joining RCMS as saxophone instructor is Chisato Eda. In addition to pursuing doctoral studies at the Eastman School of Music, she also teaches for Nazareth College and the Eastman Community Music School. She holds an master of music degree from the Eastman School.

Last season, the RCMS was expanded to offer private instruction in woodwinds, brass, and percussion in addition to the existing voice, piano, and string programs. In addition to private lessons and some group classes, the RCMS anticipates adding small and large ensembles as enrollment grows.
