Monroe County seeks foster parents for children

Due to an increased need for foster parents, Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks called for all interested and eligible adults to attend an information session on how to become a foster parent. The sessions begin at 7 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. The schedule is as follows:

  • September 23, Ogden Farmers' Library, 269 Ogden Center Road, Spencerport;
  • September 29, Chili Public Library, 3333 Chili Avenue, Rochester;
  • October 5, Seymour Public Library, 161 East Avenue, Brockport;
  • October 12, Gates Public Library, Gates Community Center Building at 1605 Buffalo Road, Rochester;
  • November 2, Gates Chili High School, 910 Wegman Road, Rochester;

Foster parents must be 21 years old, can be married or single, can rent or own a home, and most importantly must want to have a positive impact in the life of a child.
