The Department of New York State Veterans of Foreign Wars has recognized Christopher Dotson, son of Michael and Karen Dotson, for outstanding achievement and exceptional leadership ability as a representative of American youth as an Eagle Scout. He is in Boy Scout Troop #199 in Binghamton. Christopher's participation in the Eagle Scout of the Year Award was submitted through Chili-Memorial VFW Post 412 under his grandfather, Edmund Fredette.


Christine J. Smith, a resident of Churchville and a student at Monroe Community College, was named a recipient of the MCC Scholarship.


Joan Greeno, Associate Broker of Nothnagle Realtor's Chili/Ogden Office, was presented with the Sales Agent of the Month Award from Branch Manager Bob Malone. She produced 1.2 million dollars in sales for the month of August 2004.


Electrician's Mate Third Class Daniel S. Anderson graduated from Nuclear Naval Prototype Training Unit in Ballston Spa, NY in April 2004. He is currently stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, serving aboard the USS Harry S. Truman as a nuclear electrician. EM 3 Anderson joined the Navy in July 2002, after graduation from Byron-Bergen Central School.

A Minitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the USS Harry S. Truman is the flagship for the Truman Battle Group, Commander, Carrier Group TWO and the embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing THREE (CVW 3). The Harry S. Truman Battle Group is a war fighting force made up of up to twelve surface ships and submarines in addition to eight aircraft squadrons equipped and trained to work as a forward deployed force providing a deterrent against aggression and protection of vital U.S. interests around the world. The Truman recently returned from operations in the Mediterranean and is scheduled to leave to join the war on terror in Iraq in October 2004.

EM3 Anderson is the son of Pastor Mark and Cindy Anderson of Bergen. His brother, O/C Aaron M. Anderson, also serves in the U.S. Navy and is stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.


Navy Seaman Recruit Ryan P. Reynolds, son of Susan M. and Richard J. Reynolds of Hamlin, completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. Reynolds is a 2002 graduate of Brockport High School.
