Church hosts Community Action Appreciation Day

On Sunday, September 12, Cornerstone Community Church held a Community Action Appreciation Day to honor and thank local and state community leaders and public servants. The event was held during the congregation's regular Sunday morning worship service. Guests of honor included: Brockport Mayor Josephine Matela, Police Chief Daniel Varrenti, State Assemblyman William Reilich, State Senator George Maziarz and Revs. Tom Stiles and Duane Motley from New Yorkers For Constitutional Freedoms.

Cornerstone's Pastor Alex M. True commented that, "The Community Action Appreciation service was designed to thank these individuals for their hard work and for all of their efforts on behalf of the Brockport community and on behalf of our church family. Our church wants to be a blessing to this community and we thought that the first step would be to acknowledge those who have already been a blessing to us."

Cornerstone Community Church is located at 203 South Main Street, Brockport. For information go to www.cornerstonebrockport.com or call the church office at 585-747-1151.
