Saints sweep three events

Jessica Belnap took first to lead a sweep in the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke and Erin Emrich did the same in the 500-yard freestyle as Churchville-Chili defeated Hilton 92-75 in girls swimming on senior night.

Belnap won the 100-yard freestyle in 1:02.01, with Jill Raines and Melissa Suter finishing second and third in the event, and the backstroke in 1:16.36 with Faith Murphy and Grace Cuthbert right behind. Emrich took the 500-yard freestyle in 5:57.20 ahead of teammates Kristen McConnell and Erin Hardy along with the 200-yard freestyle in 2:13.19. Both times were the best of the season for Emrich. Stephanie Toth won the diving competition with 152.60 points and Kirstyn Adams was first in the 50-yard freestyle.

The Saints 200-yard medley relay team of Whitney Hoyt, Kelly Emrich, Caitlin Carpenter and Belnap tied with Hilton's team of Ashley Rode, Whitney Hickey, Lisa Hardie and Mary Juergens for first place in 2:09.05. The same unit won the 200-yard freestyle relay for the Cadets in 1:52.55.

Hilton's Hickey also finished first in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:25.28 and the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:25.65. Hardie took the honors in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:05.77 and the group of Kaitlin Forjone, Jackie Rode, Grace Mintosh and Karley Hartman won the 400-yard freestyle relay to end the meet.
