BOCES 2 superintendent chosen

Dr. Christopher B. Manaseri, Wheatland-Chili superintendent, has been selected to be the next Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES district superintendent.

The Board of Education of the Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES selected Manaseri following an extensive search which began in July. The board intends to act upon his appointment at the November 17 board meeting pending a signed order of the New York State Commissioner of Education approving his appointment.

George Howard, board of education president, said he is excited by the potential Manaseri has to continue to move BOCES 2 forward.

"Dr. Manaseri understands BOCES 2's mission to foster academic excellence through partnering on quality, cost-effective educational services," Howard said. "He is a community leader who can keep everyone focused on working toward success for all students."

Manaseri has more than 30 years experience in education. In addition to his service at Wheatland-Chili, Manaseri served as administrator in the South Seneca School District and Superintendent of the Romulus School District. He has also taught in South Seneca, Batavia and at Colgate University.

Manaseri is anticipated to start on or about January 3.
