Eagles after fourth straight title

The Kendall Eagles took the first step for what they hope to be their fourth consecutive Section Five Class CCC girl's soccer title when they trounced Oakfield-Alabama 8-0 in the first round of the playoffs. Jamie Ergott scored two goals and an assist, Angel Privitera added two goals and Lauren Cole had two assists in the shutout.

Ergott gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute with a unassisted goal before Laura Convery converted a Cole pass for an easy tap-in in the 29th minute. Jamie Donahue scored to make it 3-0 Kendall in the 37th minute after sustained Eagles pressure.

In the second half, the Eagles turned up the offense a notch scoring five goals - four of them within fourteen minutes of each other. Ergott scored her second off an assist from Lyndsie Duemmel in the 43rd minute, Privitera took a pass from the corner by Ergott and found the net in the 51st minute and Katie Stiegler made a nice one-touch move around a defenseman to score in the 56th minute. One minute later, Privitera got her second goal off a Donahue assist.

Cole finished the scoring with four minutes remaining in the game with an unassisted goal as the Eagles poured 36 shots on the Hornets net. Jenie Cole and Lindsay Gaesser split Kendall's eighth shutout in net facing just one shot. The fifth-seeded Eagles were to face fourth-seeded Pavilion in the quarterfinals as they raised their record to 12-5.
