Clarkson gazebo an Eagle Scout project

Bill Duff and son, Brian, holds a drawing of the new gazebo to be constructed in Clarkson's park. Brian took on the job of coordinating the construction of the gazebo as part of his effort to become an Eagle Scout. The Clarkson Town Board has approached Boy Scout Troop 111 to see if they were interested in supplying the labor to build the structure. The town will pay for the materials, some $3,000-$4,000. Construction started about five weeks ago when about 20 people spent two days placing and leveling the posts. Brian estimates that the 30x30 foot wooden building should be complete before Thanksgiving. The Gazebo will be especially useful during Clarkson's Good Neighbor Days festival and, of course, will be a welcome shelter for residents who enjoy using the park. Photograph by Walter Horylev.
