Teleconference focuses on downtown revitalization

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County, 249 Highland Avenue, Rochester will offer an interactive statewide teleconference on economic development and downtown revitalization on November 16 at 6:30 p.m. The conference will be held live via satellite and participants can interact with presenters by phone and/or fax. This program targets local officials, planning boards, zoning boards and interested members of the community. Experts will discuss tools and examples for planning and implementing revitalization efforts. Topics include: identifying community needs, smart growth strategies, mixed-use, funding sources, procurement, zoning laws, design issues, tax credits, historic registry and wired buildings. Having completed revitalization projects, several municipal officials will share "real world" experiences.
