Hilton Lions Club member recognized for service

At the annual conference of Lions in the nearby seven county area of New York state, Lion James Schiebel was presented an "International President's Certificate of Appreciation." International Director Gary Tschache from Bozeman, Montana made the presentation on behalf of Lions International President Clement Kusiak of Linthicum, Maryland while attending the weekend conference held at the Holiday Inn in Batavia.

Schiebel is a charter member of the Hilton Lions Club, starting his community service in 1967 when the club began in Hilton. He is currently serving as the chairman of the Board of Directors of Camp Badger, a co-educational residential summer school for special needs children from across New York state. Schiebel is also the third vice president of the Past District Governors Organization of past Lion leaders across the state. He is serving as first vice president of the Lions International Trading Pin Club with over seven hundred members from around the world and he serves as the Guiding Lion of the SUNY Brockport Lions Club on the Brockport campus.

International Director Tschache said, "The certificate was in recognition of distinguished achievements in leadership and service." Schiebel and his wife, Donna, live in Hamlin. Jim is a retired teacher from the Hilton School District and currently is a volunteer fireman and EMT with the Walker Fire Department.
