Cadet gymnasts repeat Section V title
Feeney Coach of the Year

Hilton successfully defended their Section Five gymnastics title with a team record 139.325 points in the championships held at SUNY Brockport November 8.

A deep Cadets team received a fifth place overall finish from Diana Bermudez, who was fifth in the vault with an 8.8, sixth on the uneven bars with 8.6 and tied for third on the beam with 9.2 and the floor exercise with 9.35. Erin Duffy finished fifth on the balance beam with 9.0 and fifth in the floor exercise with 9.225 and Heather Hawes was sixth in the floor exercise with 9.15. Diana Bermudez was co-named Gymnast of the Year.

The title follows the Cadets winning their Monroe County title one-week prior and is the school's third sectional crown after also winning in 1997 and earlier in 2004. Local schools changed from a winter to a fall season this academic year.

Coach of the Year John Feeney, who is retiring as coach after the state championships in spring after ten years, will remain as head coach of the SUNY Brockport women's gymnastics team. Stacey Chiaramonte will succeed Feeney at the Hilton helm.
