Loney, Olmstead lead Bees

Pete Loney scored fourteen of Byron-Bergen's final sixteen points in the game as the Bees defeated Kendall 60-51 in boy's basketball.

Leading 26-18 at half time, B-B scored the first eight points of the second half to take a sixteen-point lead before Kendall called a time-out. The break worked as the Eagles scored eighteen of the next twenty points to pull back to within one of the lead before the Bees scored at the end of the third quarter.

Kendall took a 46-44 lead midway through the final quarter before Loney took over the Bees offense starting with a pair of free throws and a steal leading to a lay-up. He also drained two consecutive three-pointers with less than two-and-a-half minutes remaining to put the Bees ahead for good.

Loney finished with a game-high 29 points while Olmstead had 19 points to go with a team-high six rebounds and five assists. John Flannery led with eight assists and chipped in seven points.

Steve Batty paced the Kendall scoring with 19 points with Dan Halter right behind with 17. Justin Manners scored eight points and led with 11 assists and six rebounds. Pete Brooks added five points for the Eagles, whose record falls to 2-2. The Bees improved to 2-1.
