K of C hosts free throw competitions

Hilton-Parma Recreation, in conjunction with the St. Leo's Knights of Columbus, will hold its annual Free-Throw Contest on Saturday, January 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Merton Williams Jr. High School. This state-wide competition is free of charge and open to boys and girls in the area between the ages of 10-14.

Participants will have the opportunity to shoot 15 free-throws, and the number made will be recorded. Scores will be compared to others in the same age bracket, and winners will advance to other local, sectional, regional and possibly state-level competitions. All participants will receive a patch.

Our Lady of the Cenacle Council 3892 of the Knights of Columbus in Greece will host a local competition for the Knights of Columbus International Free Throw Championship on Saturday, January 29 at St. Charles Borromeo School Gym from 10 a.m. to noon.

The competition is open to boys and girls ages 10 to 14. Winners progress through local, district and state level competitions. Since its beginning, more than 2.5 million youth have participated in the annual competition.
