•Sapienza, Joseph Laurence, January 27, 2005, peacefully at age 82. Husband of 55 years to Jean R. Tuohey Sapienza; devoted father of Dennis (Anne) Sapienza, Donald (Kathleen DeLaney) Sapienza, Lee (Ruth) Sapienza, Joann (Michael) Starowitz and Karen (Joel) Sapienza-Hall; beloved grandfather of William and Andrew Sapienza, Kaitlyn and Matthew Starowitz and Kara and Ethan Hall; brother of Helen (Kenneth) Harris, Mary (Howard) Sprague, Paul (Marion) Sapienza, James (Anne) Sapienza and Guy (Judy) Sapienza; also survived by nieces and nephews. He was a World War II veteran and awarded the Purple Heart.

A Mass of Christian Burial was said January 31 at St. Brigid's Church, Bergen. Donations can be made to St. Brigid's Church, P.O. Box 219, Bergen 14416 or to Bergen Fire Department, P.O. Box 428, Bergen 14416 in his memory.


CHURCHVILLE

•Fodge, John F., January 29, 2005, at age 92. He was predeceased by his wife, Fern and his sister, Mary. He is survived by his brothers, James Fodge and Charles (Betty) Fodge; nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service was said February 1 at St. Vincent DePaul Church, Churchville. Interment, St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Church Refurbishing Fund of St. Vincent DePaul Church, 11 North Main Street, Churchville 14428 in his memory.


•Griffin, Sandra J. (Taylor) (Blodgett), January 26, 2005 at age 59. She is survived by her husband John W. Blodgett Jr.; her two children Lori (Eugene) Southards and Michael (Robyn) Griffin; her brother Larry (Marcia) Taylor; her sisters Susan Tabelski and Patricia Taylor; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Jean (Buckle) Taylor and her grandson Jerimiah Zayac. She was an employee of Nippon Express.

A Memorial Service was held January 29 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Churchville. Contri-butions can be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.


HILTON

•Foster, Donald P., January 29, 2005, age 85. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie; his children, Michael (Iris) Foster, Brian Foster, Mary (Leigh) Smith; five grandchildren, Michelle (Martin) Troup, Jeffrey (Lisa) and Jon (Wendi) Foster, Ryan and Taylor Smith; 10 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Walter (Betty) and Edwin (Jeanette) Foster; sister, Margie (Richard) Ryan; sister-in-law, Doris Foster; many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by brothers, John and William Foster.

A Funeral Mass was said February 1 at St. Lawrence Church. Spring interment, Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Parma Library or Unity Foundation in his memory.


HOLLEY

•Butcher, Frank F., age 55, January 30, 2005. Survived by loving brother, Charles (Evie); a loving sister, Eva (Don) Vanwyngaarden; daughter, Pam (Todd) Clark; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

A Funeral Service was held February 3 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., Holley. Interment, North Byron Cemetery. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.

•O'Mara, Albert J. "Al", age 86, January 30, 2005. Predeceased by his wife Bette, in 2001. Survived by sons, John (Lonnice) of Colorado, David (Jill) of Gates, Michael (Margaret) of Kendall; sister, Eva Wais of Hilton; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Service was held February 3 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., Holley. Interment, Transit Road Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Holley Emergency Squad or the Orleans County Nursing Home in his memory.


KENDALL

•Sauls, Graydon L. "Ray," age 87, died February 1, 2005 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home after a long illness. He is predeceased by his wife Eileen (McGuire). He is survived by two children, Ernastine Sauls of Florida and Craig (Vicki) Sauls of Kendall; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; brother, Ensign (Georgia) Sauls of Brockport; nieces and nephews. He is prede-ceased by a son, William Sauls.

Funeral Services were held February 5 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Holley. Burial in Hillside Cemetery. Memorials can be made to a charity of one's choice.


•Steffen, Ella C., Age 92, January 26, 2005. Predeceased by husband of 67 years Walter Sr. Survived by son, Walter (Miriam "Dolly"); daughters, Alice (Sonny) Schepler, Mary (George) Herring; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 19 in Concordia Lutheran Church-Kendall beginning at 1 p.m. Interment at the family's convenience in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Concordia Lutheran Church or the Orleans County Office of the Aging.
