Gerald W. Rogers, of Hamlin, has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2004 semester at the University of Vermont. Rogers, a Civil Engineering major, is a junior in the College of Engineering and Math.

To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.


Brian Rebman, a freshman at SUNY Potsdam, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester. He is majoring in secondary education and history.

Rebman is a 2004 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School and is the son of Pat and Steve Rebman of Ogden.


Several area residents have been named to honor rolls for the fall semester at SUNY Oswego. On the Oswego president's list are:

  • From Churchville, Daniel P. Ivancic, a freshman psychology major.
  • From Hilton Russell S. Korn, a senior secondary education major.
  • And from Spencerport, Sara A. Catlin, a sophomore linguistics major, and Peter J. Hoffman, a senior history major.

On the dean's list are:

  • From Hamlin, Eric J. Chase, a junior technology education major; Catherine E. Chuma, a senior public justice major; and Ashley M. Rath, a junior studio art major.
  • From Hilton, Andrew P. Barton, a senior history major; Jason M. Barton, a senior secondary education major; Adrianne M. Knapp, a junior studio art major; and Rebecca M. Murray, a senior elementary education major.
  • From North Chili, David W. Johnson, a senior chemistry major and Robert M. Johnson, a sophomore accounting major.
  • And from Spencerport, Laura C. Bianchi, a freshman history major; Evan V. Lucieer, a senior technology education major; Diana L. Rombola, a freshman; and Emily R. Seaburn, a freshman.

Doug Bennett, a freshman at the University of Rochester, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester. Bennett is pursuing mathematics as his major.

He is the son of Bill and Lynne Bennett of Spencerport.


A Monroe County resident has been awarded approximately $2,000 for the "All-American Scholarship" to attend Alfred State College.

Edward Langshwager of Churchville is slated to graduate in 2005 from Churchville-Chili High School and intends to enroll in the mechanical engineering technology program.


The following students have been named to the dean's list at St. Bonaventure University for the fall 2004 semester.

  • From Spencerport: Jessica Bartock, a sophomore majoring in biology. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David M. Bartock; Melissa Weise, a senior majoring in elementary education/special education. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Weise; and Gregory Oliver, a sophomore majoring in education. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Oliver;
  • From Churchville: Trevor Cutaiar, a junior majoring in journalism/mass communication. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Cutaiar; Kaitlyn Keidel, a sophomore majoring in elementary education/special education. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Keidel;
  • From Hilton: Gregory Mahns, a senior majoring in biology. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Kevin G. Mahns; and
  • From Brockport: Ryan Shannon, a sophomore majoring in political science. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Shannon.

Amanda Broadway of Brockport was named to the fall 2004 dean's list at The College of Saint Rose in Albany.

Full-time students who complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5 with no grades of D, F, Incomplete or Pass/Fail are eligible for inclusion on the list.


Ann Bliss, daughter of Terry and Cookie Bliss of Kent, has been named to the fall dean's list at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams, Massachusetts. Bliss, a 2003 graduate of Kendall High School, is a sophomore majoring in English. She was also named to the Alpha Lamda Delta National Honor Society.


Brendan Gaesser, son of Amy Gaesser of Kendall and Jim Gaesser of Letchworth, has been named to the fall dean's list at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams, Massachusetts, with a 4.0 GPA.

Gaesser, a 2003 graduate of Kendall High School, is a freshman majoring in psychology. He was also named to the Alpha Chi National Honor Society.


Among students named to the Niagara University academic dean's list for the fall 2004 semester were several area residents. To qualify, students must attain a 3.25 academic grade-point average for the semester.

Sara Adele Catlin, daughter of Greg and Robin Catlin of Spencerport, was named to the president's list for the fall semester at SUNY Oswego.

A graduate of Spencerport High School, Catlin is in the honors program, majoring in linguistics.


Emily Judith Georger, a community health major at SUNY Potsdam, was named to the president's list for the fall semester.

She is the daughter of James Georger of Hamlin.

To achieve the honor of being on the president's list, each student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically graded semester hours that semester with a minimum grade point average of 3.5.


Kimberly Goddard, an elementary and special education major at the State University of New York College at Cortland, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2004 semester.

She is the daughter of David and Jennifer Goddard of Sagewood Drive, Spencerport and a 2001 graduate of Spencerport High School.


Realtor Abramo "Brom" Bianchi of RE/MAX First was honored by the "Women's Council of Realtors" at the 17th Annual "Breakfast of Champions" on January 21, at the RIT Inn & Conference Center on West Henrietta Road. This year's slogan was "Journey To The Top" where Brom has been through most of his 20 plus years as a Realtor servicing Rochester and the surrounding areas. To achieve this prestigious "Zenith Award" you must have closed 35 or more transactions in a fiscal year.

Bianchi thanks all of his clients for their referrals and support throughout all of these years. Without the support of his family and client base, he says he would not have been able to achieve such success. Bianchi is a life long Rochester resident, graduate of Gates Chili High School and St. John Fisher College. He is an active member of the local community and along with his Real Estate business he enjoys volunteer work with several schools in our area, serves as a recreation commissioner, and volunteer coach of his children's activities.


Marine Corps Sgt. Chad C. Arva, son of Dori A. Arva of Hamlin and Ronald R. Arva of Hilton, reported for duty at Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Marine Corps Air Station, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.

Arva is a 2000 graduate of Kendall High School and joined the Marine Corps in July 2000.
