Annual daffodil sale available on-line

The American Cancer Society's annual Daffodil Days has returned with a twist. Daffodils can now be sent through cyberspace.

E-cards (electronic greeting cards) allow you to send virtual daffodils to family and friends via e-mail. Six different cards are available for a donation. You can honor a special someone, brighten the day of someone touched by cancer and help support the American Cancer Society mission all at the same time. Also new this year, Gifts of Hope may be purchased through the website. For a donation of $20, a Gift of Hope, a bunch of daffodils in a vase, will be anonymously delivered to a healthcare facility in your community. Visit www.cancer.org/daffodils to send an e-card or order a Gift of Hope.

For those who wish to participate in Daffodil Days the old fashioned way, fresh cut bunches of 10 daffodils are available for $10, potted daffodils are also $10 and the official American Cancer Society Daffodil Days vase is just $8. Gift of Hope is available for a $20 donation.

Advance orders will be taken until February 25 and will be available for pickup and delivery during the week of March 14.

Volunteers are needed to take orders for daffodils from companies, schools, churches and community organizations. Proceeds from Daffodil Days support the American Cancer Society's programs of research, education, advocacy and patient services.

To order flowers or to volunteer, call the American Cancer Society at 1-800-ACS-2345.
